In their second strike against Hawke s Ray. the Poverty Bay senior cricket .eleven did better "on a wicket slowed up owing to heavy overnight,.rain. Evidently going for a. draw, they opened quietly. and runs came fairly slowly. At 2.30 o’clock this afternoon, they had three wickets down for 125 runs, (.. Ji Shephard ... 27 Lockett, o Worker, b Tompcrtoii ... A:> Thomson, not out 1 Extras ° Total for three wickets 125 JUNIORS WELL BEATEN HEX 44, McKAY 30 (Special to the Herald.) NAPIER, this day. Despite good batting by Hei and McKay, who made 44 and 30 respectively, the Poverty Bay juniors were dismissed cheaply in ilieir second innings, the total being 109. Hawke's Bay thus won by an innings and 79 runs. Apart Iroin Met and McKay, the only visiting batsmen to make double-figinvs wen: Stewart 10 not out and MeMarray 11.
