CROSSING TRAGEDY
12 KILLED; 17 INJURED MOTOR COACH RUN DOWN (Received April 19, 2 p.m.) MADRID, April 18. A goods train ran down a. motor coach conveying excursionists at a level crossing near Valencia. Twelve were killed and 17 injured. The engine carried the motor vehicle 300 yards, and then tossed it down an embankment. M.any of those killed were so mutilated that they could not be identified. A child of eight had a. miraculous escape'. It was found unscratched playing on the embankment. An old woman crossing keeper tried to stop tlie motor coach, which knocked her down and injured her.
