STALLED ON CROSSING
TRAIN WRECKS LORRY
TWO PERSONS INJURED
(Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., last night. A mixed train proceeding to Woodville at 11.15 o'clock this morning struck a motor lorry, which stalled on the lino at Victoria. Avenue crossing. Leonard Synimonds, driver of the lorry, and; O. N. Clouscu, a borough councillor, arc in hospital, the former with a broken arm and the latter with cuts and braises. The other passengers, Mrs. Synimonds, Mr. and Mrs. Jessup, and Miss M'oana Clousen escaped unhurt.
The train was 100 yards away when the lorry stalled. The train bad sounded a warning whistle, and was travelling very slowly when tho crash occurred, otherwise tho accident could have been more serious. The lorry was damaged considerably.
