EASTER CRICKET

P.B. V. HAWKE'S BAY SENIORS & JUNIORS AT NAPIER Two representative cricket teams from Poverty Bay will journey to Napier during the Easter holidays to meet Hawke's Bay teams in senior and junior fixtures extending over Saturday and Monday. Much interest is being evinced in the prospects of the Poverty Bay teams, and it is satisfactory to note that despite the many other attractions which might be expected to compete with tho summer game, all but two of the players chosen by the selector have been able to arrange for the Napier trip.

The senior team has suffered a serious loss through the withdrawal of G. Clifton, vice-captain and wicketkeeper, who finds himself unable to accompany the, representative side. The other players nominated for. the, *»'iiior engagement comprise F. Bennett, (i. N. Bockeif, H. F. Forstor, E. Dow, 0. I'Tnsor, I). Wells, E. James, \V. Jennings, L. Thomson, and G. I'ocock. The player to replace G. Clifton was to be selected this afternoon. Mr. L. Thomson is to captain the seniors, and Mr. H..P. Forstor will undertake the duties of manager. In the junior side the only withdrawal is Grant, who has been replaced by Campbell, nominated previously as 12th man. The team com-

prises Hoi, Hopkinson, Greaves, Good, Stewart, MfacMurray, Loekctt, Wilson, ■Somervell, McKay and Campbell. H. Good has been appointed captain of the juniors and Mr. L. Thomson will undertake the management of the team.

Endeavors to arrange a Wairoa engagement for a second senior eleven for Easter Monday have fallen through, the sub-association having been unable, apparently, to finalise the arrangements at its end. The loss of

this match is much regretted, as it would have given a chance to players who.se degree of experience docs not as yet fit them for first-class cricket.
