EASTER ARRANGEMENTS MOST CLOSE TILL TUESDAY Taking the business premises in the town as a whole, shops will be closed from to-morrow to Monday, inclusive, opening again for business on Tuesday morning. there are a tew exceptions to this rule, however, for bakers, pork butchers and tobacconists will be open either all day or part, of the day on Saturday, while tobacconists will open for two hours, from. 8 a.m. till 10 a.m. on Monday. The late night tor all sliops will be observed this evening. Bakers will observe an ordinary shopping day on, Saturday, that is until 0.30 p.m., while tobacconists and pork butchers will open until 1 p.m. Milkmen working under the Poverty Bay Milk Producers and Vendors' Association will eliminate the afternoon deliveries from Friday to Monday, inclusive, and also on Anzac Day. Motor traders' offices and workshops close from to-morrow to .Monday inclusive. The following table shows at a glance the opening and closing days of the main shops in the town, to-morrow, of course, being a holiday for all those mentioned below. S S Tobacconists ... { B—lo The position of the banks is an unusual one. ll is usual for the banks to observe) Raster Tuesday as a holiday, but if they did so on this occasion they would be closed from 3 p.m. to-day until next Thursday morning, for Wednesday is St. George's Day and a bank holiday. An arringerrent has been made," therefore, to open on Tuesday. Under this arrangement the banks will have one day's holiday and one day's business alternating throughout the week. They will be closed, of course, on Monday,' open on Tuesday, closed on Wednesday, open on Thursday, closed on Friday, which is Anzac Day, and open again on Saturday.
