EASTER ATTRACTIONS
VARIETY OF EVENTS SEVERAL SPORTS GATHERINGS The public of Gisborne and district are well catered, for in the nature ol sports gatherings next .Saturday and Monday, and provided the weather keeps fine the events should be most attractive. On Saturday many residents no doubt will' go to the motor-cycle sports ai Patutahi, where the Patutahi Sports Club and the Motor Cycle Club are combining to put oil an attractive programme comprising mainly motor Mycin events. Further away, the Motu sports will bo held on Saturday, and no doubt will attract a large attendance, particularly from the northern end of the district. Of interest mainly to bowlers, the Burton Cup tournament is attracting a great deal of attention. Ten clubs from (lisborne and district, the coast, Hay ol Plenty and tlavvke's Bay have entered 34 teams, and with tine weather there should lie some very interesting games. The tournament will last until Tuesday. In addition, a junior football match will be played on the Oval on Saturday between Celtic and N'ulmka. The Waikohu U.S.A. spoils at T,Karaka should form the main attraction 011 Easier Monday. A well varied pro gramme of events has been arranged, and the public is assured of being catered for in the usual efficient manner that has marked these gatherings A sports meeting will bo held also at Waipiro Bay on Easter Monday, bat ■although too far away to attract many Gisborne residents, there should* be a strong representation from practically every coast centre. The Railway Department has arranged to rater for the public attending, the gatherings at Patutahi. Motu. and -To Karaka.
