I OALA NIGHT AT TOKOMARTJ BAY j A gala night in aid of the Gates Memorial was held ou the tenuis court at Te Buka Hotel, Tokomaru Bay, and was highly successful. The court wa> surrounded by a profuse decoration ol flags and lit by electric light and numerous Chinese lanterns, seats being placed all round tho court. Dancing on the green was indulged in to music by Blair s orchestra. Numerous competitions and two sideshows did good business towards supplementing the funds. intervals were filled in with wireless lent bv Mr. Mac William. About half of the ladies present were in fancy dress.
