Auckland: Arrived, at 10.15 a. m., Waimeu, from Napier; 2.46 a.m., Kairanga, from Napier. It was made known at the farewell gathering at Wellington that Lady Alice Fergusson holds a record for capturing a giant centipede, 6Jiu. long, when she was visiting the Three Kings on one Occasion. The prize, explained His Excellency, was now in the safe custody of the Wellington Museum. A meeting of the creditors of 'Major Gerald Awdry Cadogan Conger, formerly salesman, of Manurewa, and now living instructor, of Hamilton, was held this week. In his statement bankrupt said that for some time he had worked on commission as a motor salesman. Ho had saved £SO, which he paid as a deposit on a farm at Manurewa. Until his appointment with the Auckland Aero Club as instructor last year ho had not. been free from financial worry, and the farm property had proved a severe handicap. His liabilities amounted to £640 13s 7d, and his assets to .£SO. He was prepared to offer a. settlement of 5s in the £l. A creditor moved that bankrupt should be asked to endeavor to pay 5s in the £l, and that sum should ho accepted in full settlement. The motion was carried.
