BOY CYCLIST INJURED
ACCIDENT AT MANGAPAPA In a collision with a motor car driven by Mr. Cariile H. Norris, of Whatatutu, a boy, Thomas Wilson, resident at 17 Buchanan street, Mangapapa, suffered severe injuries yesterday and was removed to the Cook Hospital. ■ The injured lad was riding a borrowed bicycle in Hill street, and passing the intersection of that street with Gordon street, came into collision with the car. The driver of the latter did not see Wilson until the two machines were within a few feet, and though he applied his brakes he was unable to avoid running down the cyclist. The latter was thrown to tire road and dragged some distance before the car was brought to a standstill, and when rescued from beneath the car was found to be suffering from numerous abrasions and cuts about the legs and head, part of his left ear being severed. In addition, he complained of pain in his back. Mr. Xorris immediately took the boy to hospital, whoro he received treatment. His condition last night was regarded as serious, but this morning's report was to the effect that ho had slept well and was improving.
