Messrs. R. C. Fisken, .1. Oats, and J, ,1. Gartsliore were recent visitors to Hamilton. Mrs. Sutherland and family have returned to Repongaere after a visit to Jlawke’s Bay. A decision to nominate the Rev. John (,'ollio. of Queenstown, Central Otago, for elec!ion as' the next moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand was made bv the Auckland Presbytery this week. The Very Rev. Father Gennanos ilelioii, Archimandrite, or rector, of the Greek Orthodox ( hureli, Adelaide,, arrived in Wellington recently front Sydney for a month’s stay in N'ew Zealand. The object of bis visit is to get in’ touch with the Greeks living in this country), ascertain the'present position of the Greek Orthodox Ulmrch in New Zealand, and carry out religious duties here. He is the first, priest of Ihe Greek Orthodox Church otlioinlly appointed by the Greek Pal i inri-li at Constantinople to visit the Poiiiiniou.
