Round the World by Radio
A very .remarkable demonstration of the possibilities of wireless was giyen last evening from the Sydney station 2FG, which sent interviewers to the home and laboratory of Dr. Carl Bretagne, a distinguished scientist and art connoisseur, who has made radio one of his hobbies, and has constructed an extremely receptive set. "With this set the doctor tuned in to stations in various parts of tflic world, and 2EC listeners were treated to ■music from Piccadilly, London, a performance by the Berlin State orchestra; a news budget from Paris; an animated debate in Borne; then to China, where a Chinese announcer in quite good announcer style introduced aome weird Chinese music; and lastly to Ban Francisco, where in the early hours of What to the Sydney listeners was the previous morning, a tired jazz -orchestra was exhausting itself in the final flutters of an all-night programme. The production of these varied broadcasts from Dr. Bretagne's *et wag wonderfully l clear, and the ease , with which h# tuned in to stations in all parts of the world was remarked on by his visitors, who included some promiaant people ia Sydney,
