SALES OF SPIRITS
DECREASE IN N.S.W. (Received Feb. 4, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 4. The consumption of alcoholic, liquors in New South Wales is falling appreciably, owing to the depression and increased prices. The sale of beer during December was exactly 204,570 gallons less than the corresponding month of 1028. The sales of spirits are hardly so pronounced, yet they are substantial enough to cause the liquor trade the utmost concern.
