INDIAN'S ASHES
PYRE ON TOWN COMMON MELBOURNE, Jan. 25. Before. Gaudet >Singh died in the Wanganitla Hospital lie expressed the wish that his ashes should lie taken to India and cast into tlu> arms of Mother Ganges.
An application was made to the Victorian Health Department for permission for Gaudet Singh's body to bo burnt on a pyre on the town common, and the cremation was carried out yevstorday. His compatriots will journey to India to perform the iinul rites.
