CHAIRMAN'S BOMBSHELL During,the discussion of the report of t'ho engineer, Mr. 0. P. Marshall Smith, at the Harbor Board mooting to-day, the chairman, Mr. J. Tombloson, dropped a bombshell by requesting that the board ask the engineer for his resignation. The chairman contended that the engineer had been fighting against the board in respect Of facilitating the railway connection to the Haiti basin wharf. The motion was seconded proforma by Dr. Collins, who, however, disassociated himself from its purpose. At the request of several members, the chairman agreed to hold his motion over till a later stage of the meeting. The incident occasioned a sensation in.the board room; most of the members apparently not 'being aware of tho chairman's intention.
