NIGHT FLYING
SYDNEY-MELBOURNE SERVICE ! SYDNEY, Jon. 18. YY'ith the Sydncy-Brisbano service ill lull swing, anti with full loads almost daily between the two capitals, Australian National Airways, Ltd., hopes to launch its night services between Melbourne and : Sydney in ■ about three months. Special night Hying equipment for this service is now on the way from England. The tri-motored AvroFokker planes, which will ho operated by men with night-flying experience, including Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smilh ; will carry special landing lights and every other form of equipment which will make for safe travel. YVith these landing lights it wills be possible to see the ground in detail, from an altitude. from 3000 ft. or more. The planes will take off from Mascot about 8 p.m., and will land at Melbourne about midnight, making non-stop flights. The time table will be planned to enable the company to observe its mail contract schedule.
