The approach of the Ferguson Cup competition between the Gisborne Amateur Surf and Swimming Club and the Meretaungn Swimming and Life Saving Club, to he held in Hastings on February 19, has been marked by increased enthusiasm on the part of likely candidates for inclusion in the Gisborne water polo team. During the past few weeks hardly a day has passed without some probable members of the team indulging in training with a view to representing the Gisborne club at the contest, and on Monday evening the following swimmers are to attend at the High School baths for the purpose of choosing possible and probable teams: 1). W. McKeague, T. Wauchop, M. Owen, .1. Miller. S. Corson, J. Crawford, J. Brady, D, Miller, R. Murphy, R. Pool, W. Pera, * G. Murnhy, Jones, and Hill. These teams will meet at the next carnival conducted by the club, and the team to represent the Gisborne 'club at Hastings will be announced at the conclusion of the match,
