An accident occurred at the intersection with. Childers road, and Lowe street yesterday, when a eyenst, Mrs. Plavell, was knocked down by a light motor van. So tar as is known Mrs. ' Plavell was not injured beyond receiving a shaking, and was able to proceed •home.

Sitting in chambers this week, Ilis Iloiior Mr. Justice Ostler granted probate in deceased persons’ estates as follows: In the estate of Blanche Evelyn Brett, of Gisborne, to William Henry Brett, cn the motion of Mr. J. S. Wauchop; in the estate of John O’Grady, of Gisborne, farmer, to John O’Grady and Da..id Joseph Parker, on the motion of Mr. T. A. Coleman. Administration in the estate of Bamuel \ Roland Revill, of Waipaoa, engineer, \was granted to Lillian Mabel Revill, on the motion of Mr. Coleman.

The departmental inquiry, arising out of recent Police Court proceedings, which has been in progress since Wednesday in connection with the Telegraph Department in Gisborne, concluded at 6 o’clock last evening. Lengthy evidence was given at the inquiry, the proceedings commencing at 9 a.in. on each of the three days, and continuing until 10 o’clock on the first two nights. A. D. Thomson, a former stipendi-
