Very shortly Sydney and London will be connected by telephone, and there seems no reason why New Zealand should not soon be talking to both Australia and London.

It is known that an improved short-wave transmitting station is associated with the radio station ZLW, in Wellington, and by this means it should be possible soon to communicate with Australia. The Sydney station, 2ME, which belongs to Amalgamated Wireless, is the station which will convey New Zealand messages through Sydney telephones to people receiving messages from New Zealand. When the sorvice will he opened is not yet known, but a public statement is expected shortly. ' v .
