The threatened political Rale over (ho Indian question died to a more or less gentle zephyr during tlie week-end. threats that a censure vote, and the views of extreme politicians might even lead to the defeat of the Government are likely to come to nothing.
It'is learned that Mr. Baldwin decided not to oppose the. Labor Party, and lien.e the Conservative position on Thursday will be one of approval. Lord Irwin's declaration was modified by the. regret thai it had been made without consultation with the Simon Commission.
Even allowing fo? the dissatisfaction of the various party groups. Mr. MacDonald, supported by Mr. Baldwin, can afford to ignore the Liberals. The only real danger apparently comes from tho Government's own party, a section of which is annoyed at the possibility that the domestic programme may be held up.
