In face of an unexpectedly large increase of £38,4C0.000 in brokers’ loans to a new high loan record, stocks moved erratically, with advantage to bears in a spirited tussle. Tho weakness was accentuated in the last hour, when fresh selling followed a feeble mid-afternoon rally. Leading stocks closed two to 10 points oil. with much higher losses registered in lesser issues.
