Jack Cope, the veteran parachutist, is the creator of a new record for a delayed drop. Going to l.'.OOOft. altitude lie stepped off a plane and dropped 13,000 ft. before he released the parachute cord. The terrific strain almost wrecked the parachute, but Cope managed to land safely.
