LONDON, July 31. Because of his notorious indifference to the sex, says the Paris correspondent of the Daily News, women will not be permitted to participate in the official reception here to Alain Gerbault, the former tennis star, on his return from his .lone world cruise, extending over several years, in his little yacht. Firecrest. Dr. J. B. Charcot, the Antarctic explorer, in an introduction to Gerbatilt's diary, describes him as a pheno menon.. Though he had iiad no contact with the sea, a love for it was born in him. It is announced that Gerbault intends building a smaller boat than the Firecrest, in which he proposes to spend the rest of his days cruising on the Pacific Ocean.
