SHOPLIFTING CHARGES (Per Press Association.") AUCKLAND, last night. Adelaide SmaJlfield, 29. a married woman, charged at, the Police Court 0! five counts of stealing goods from shops pleaded guilty, and was fined £2O. The thefts ranged over a period of a fortnight, a number of city shops beiup visited. Counsel 'raised a plea of the woman f health, but the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, said be might have been able to accept that explanation if there had been only one charge.
