ANOTHER AGREEMENT

A. trade agreement between Canada and Newfoundland was reached ;it a recent conference here with the Premier, Sir Richard Squires. The. Minister of Finance, Mr Robb, said in the House to-day that a. year ago an agreement' was reached giving Canada, most favored nation treatment, including preference. it was also arranged that the Canadian Trade and (einmeive Department should subsidise a steamship and mail service. An Order-jn-Gouncil had heCn put through in Newfoundland, and corresponding legislation would he effected in Canada later. A difference of opinion was straightened out during Sir Richard Squire’s visit.
