RUSSIAN CRISIS
AN APPEAL TO TROTSKY CO-OPERATION REFUSED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received Nov. 21, .'1 p.m.) RIGA, Nov. 20. It is confirmed that Stalin summoned Trotsky from exile last week and engaged in a three-days’ conference with him in an attempt to win over groups which at persent -arc in a state of armed neutrality. Trotsky refused to give way a single inch, and returned to exile. The failure has considerably weakened Stalin’s position.
