TRAWLERS FOR AUSTRALIA
LONDON, Oct. 2.
'Two steam trawlers which have been sold fo an 'Australian fishing firm by ,the .Boston Deep Sea Fishing and Ice Co., Ltd., of Fleetwood, have left the Lancashire port for their new sphere of work.
'lhe bouts were formerly known as (he Almerh and Seville, and 'nave been tisii ing out of Fleetwood for some lime. While retaining the Fleetwood port numbers, Hie names have been respectively changed to Coo'.gwai and Diirrnwecn. Kach ship carried a. crew of 15 men, and all except the skippers were Fleetwood deep-sea fishermen. Captain Powell, a New Zealander. was in charge of the Durraween, and Captain Houghton, of Bristol, took out the 'Goolgwai. Tlie journey is expected to last be days. ('alls arc to be made for filling hunkers and for fresh provisions al Sue/., Aden. Co. oin'bo, and Singapore. ■On arrival al Sydney, New South Wales, which will be the future base of the boats, the trawlers will lisli in Australian waters, and land their catches al Ihe poll.
