ADDINGTON MARKET FAT SHEEP IN DEMAND CPer Press Association.l CHRIHTCHI'RCH. fast night. Entries at to-day's sale, were on an average scale in most classes of slock, and, with no sale last week on account of the holiday, there was a good demand for fat. sheep, bill an easier one for fat cattle.

Store sheep: There were heavier entries, including a good-sized consignment of wethers from Nelson. It was a good sale foe all classes of average to good sorts of wethers and hoggets, whilst ewes and e ,anibs retained last sale's values. Ewes and lambs made 18s 6d to 23s Id: good 4, 6 and 8-th ewes 34s to 37s : ordinarv to 27s 6d: woollcd halfbrod wethers 32s 6d to 34s Id: best shorn wethers 24s to 26s 9d : ordinarv 21s 6d to 23s 6d. Fat lambs : An entry of 550 head came forward and was readily bought by butchers. Tin; 'quality whs exceptionally good. Extra prime lambs to 35s 7d : prime lambs 32« to 345: medium himbs 29s to 31s 6d ; light dumbs 27s to 28s 9d.

Fat sheep : A good quality entry, the bulk being shorn sheep, comprising 10? races. The sale opened at about last week's rates, 'but hardened by a Is a head as the sale advanced. Extra prime steers and heifer beef made to 51s per 1001 b, good steer 46s to 495. plain heavy 37s to 41s id. best cow and heifer 44s to 47s id, medium heifer 40s to 43s Id, medium cow 35s to 38s, rough down to .30s 4d. Extra prime heavy steers £22 to £24 12s 6d; prime steers £l9 to £2l 10s: medium steers £l6 15s to £lB 15s; light steers £ll 15s to £l6: extra prime heifers to £ll 2s 6d ; prime heifers £l3 to Cl 5 10s; medium heifers £lO 10s to £l2 15s: light heifers £9 to £lO ss; extra prime cows to £ls 12s 6d : prime •cows £l2 10s to £l4 15s: ordinary cows £lO to £l2 ss; aged and inferior cows £8 to £9 ss. Vealers: flood vealers were in short supply and prices for them were fully on a par with the best of recent sales. Good vealers made to £7 10s ; medium vealers £3 10s to £5 15s; small calves 15s to £2 10s.

Store cattle : There was a small entry of stores, with no quotable lines of steers or heifers. There was a keen sale, all offerings being disposed of. A line of light well-bred vearling. Shorthorn bulls made from lOgiis to lOigns; best rows £5 10s to £7 15s: medium cows E 3 to £5; old cows 30s to £2 10s; bulls £4 to £ll.

Dairy cattle: A small entry came forward. Fifteen Jersey heifers met with keen competition and sold at- up to £ls. Best second, third and fourth culvers made £8 10s to £l3: medium £6 to £8 • backward culvers C 4 to £6 10s: orood extra good heifers £lO to £ls; medium heifers £6 to £9.

Fat pigs : There was a very large entry of porkers, the market being oversupplied, and prices towards the end of the sale were nearly down to export level. A sina.'l entry of 'baconers met with a fair demand and a sharp rise towards the end. Choppers made £2 to tVt 16s; light baconers £3 to E 3 10s; heavv £3 10s to £4 6s 6d average price per lb. 5J,d to 6Ad ; porkers 24s to 55s o ,|.„average price per lb. s£d to 7d. Store pigs: There was a medium entry, with improved competition for smaller sorts, but no change, in the values of big pigs. Small weaners 8s to 10s: good weaners lis to 14s 6d : small stores 12s to 16s: medium 17s to 22s 6d; large 23s to 28s; extra large to 335.
