BABY VALUED AT £40,000
HOSPITAL THAT GAVE IT AWAY
PARIS, Sept. 20, The Detroit Evangelical Hospital lias, by an unfortunate mistake, lost a child belonging to Mr. W. C Greatorcx, of Detroit, and since the baby may never be recovered, the father is suing the hospital for £40,000. The Greatorcx' child, according to the New Vork Herald (Paris edition), was sent; lo the hospital when its mother died. Shortly afterwards a man called at the hospital and was given the child under tin- impression thai he was Mr. Greatorcx. The authorities lnvc since found, the- other man, n Belgian immigrant, but he declares that he gave "the baby to a motorist bound for Pennsylvania, whose name he did uoi trouble to ask.
