During the fortnight the top line was maintained in working order, there being one leak,near Bushmere road, Matawhero.
Twenty-one dangerous goods licenses were renewed by the Gisborne Borough Council during the past fortnight. Fares collected by the Gisborne- tramways during the fortnight ended July 14 totalled £lsl 4s 9d, of which amount £llß 18. s 2d was taken on the Gladstone road route, and £32 6s 7d on the Whataupoko side. The Gladstone road trams travelled 2289 miles, and carried 12,139 passengers, and the fa,res per car mile averaged 12.47 d. The Olrnoml road cars travelled 552 miles, and carried 3140 passengers, and: the fares per car mile averaged 14.05 d During the same period tho municipal buses collected £157 6s in fares, travelling 3469 miles, and carrying 10,734 passengers, and the fares per bus mile averaged 10.88 d.
