EXTREMISTS BEATEN
BRITISH COAL MINERS PEACE PROPOSALS APPROVED 'Britlsn Official Wireless.) Rec. noun. RUGBY, July 22. After a vigorous debate, the Miners' Federation yesterday at Llandudno rejected a motion to condemn discussions between the general council of the Trades Union Congress and the group of employers-associated with Lord Melchett for peace in industry. The vote was 192,000' in favor of the motion, and 5G9.0U0 against. The motion declared that peace in industry was incompatible with trade unionism. It expressed the opinion that the conference was intransigaiit with the policy of Mr A. J. Cook, who led the miners in the disastrous strike of 1926, and its rejection is regarded as a signal defeat of that policy.
