A magnificent maerocarpa tree, which is'growing at Hamilton East, and planted by pioneers of the town,, is in danger of destruction. The Borough Council is to be requested to prevent Hie removal of the tree.
At a sitting of the Children's Court at Opotiki two Maori boys were charged with wilfully breaking telegraph insulators on the Waioeka road. The telegraph linesman in charge at Opotiki said there had been a great deal of damage done to insulators during.the,post fo\y months. Over 30 insulators had 'been found broken just, lately, end it had been veryhard to" find the culprits. The boys were censured and ordered to pay costs totalling 25s each.
