TUCKWELL SHIELD (Herald Correspondent.) A further round of the Tuckwell Shield tournament was played during the week-end at Waipiro Bay, the Misses Busby very kindly permitting the Kames to be played on their couiv, a kindness very much appreciated by the players. The match was between Waipiro Bay, represented by W. b. Thompson and G. Chalmers, v. lokomaru Bay, Dr. "McKay and McDonald. The match, which was very evenly contested, resulted in a victory for Tokomaru Bay, as follows : Singles: Dr. McKay beat W. & Thompson, 2-6, 6 7 \VA M £°4 beat & Chalmers, 4-6, 10-8, 6-4 Doubles: McKay and McDonald heat W. S. Thompson and G. Chalmers, o-4, 2_lo, 6 —l. i j The Tuckwell Shield was presented five years ago hy Mr. A. Tuckwell, of Waipiro Bay, and has been successful y defended by Waipiro Bay t?wk^ r years. The tournament is played on Davis Cup lines. The U played will be between G. Cotterill and T 'Williams (Makarika and Dick WilLis and Pattullo (Valley team torn). The winners of the matchi will play McKay and McDonald, 0 TokoEru Bay/and the finalists will meet Rtainton and Cameron, of To Araroa.
