SHOWING A PROFIT

PACIFIC CABLE BOARD LONDON, March 26. The Times states that it is officially informed that the Pacific Cable Board is not operating at a loss. Receipts have exceeded working expenses .every year with the exception of the first year, although the excess is expected to be less for the 12 months ending March 31, owing to the Beam wireless competition. Profits have hitherto been devoted to amortisations of capital and extensions of the system.
