BRITISH MOVIE MEN RAID HOLLYWOOD

HOLLYWOOD (Cal.), Nov. 30. British film producers have launched their long-expected raid on Hollywood’s picture directing aces. Reaching, out for megaphone talent after passage of tho film quota law by Parliament providing that directors of British pictures must he of British blood, leaders of syndicates already have signed Sydney Oicott to a long-term contract and are negotiating with John S. Robertson.

Oicott, who will become director-gene-ral of the Lion Film Corporation, will leave here for New York on December 1, sailing for England immediately after arrival here. Robertson, who has been on a pleasure trip to England since termination of his contract with Mctro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, is said to bo negotiating with a syndicate to direct a scries of pictures.
