30LB. OF LUGGAGE
LADY ODBHAM'S OUTFIT FOR 20,000-MILES FLIGHT DONDOIN, Nov. 17. How many women could face with equanimity the thought of a 20,000-miles journey through varying climates, with only 301 b. of baggage? Lady Cobham. who is accompanying her husband, Sir Alan Cobham, on his flight round Africa, which begin!* on Thursday, is quite calm about it. She said to a reporter : “The men of the crew aro allowed only between 20 and 301 b. of luggage, and I am going as one of the crew, so why should I have more? My only heavy package will bo a typewriter, which is essential for keeping the records of the flight. “I have to be prepared for the jungle, and also to look smart when we arrive at towns, so I am taking three evening dresses and four afternoon frocks, the lightest I have. 1 am prepared for the jungle also, for l.have bought a pair of long Jodpur trousers. I have also a pair of riding breeches, which I shall wear every day with a plain coat and skirt, under a travelling coat of proof parti-colored gabardine.”
