HASTINGS HOUSE BURNED

(Per Press Association.) NAPIER, last night. A 12-roomcd house in Hastings, recently used as a boardinghouse, but vacated about three weeks ago, was very considerably damaged by lire this evening, most of .the rooms being practically gutted. The origin of the outbreak appeared to be in the ceiling, but the cause is unknown. The building is owned by Mr. J. W. Harding, of Waipukurau. The insurances wore not ascertainable to-night. This is the second instance withili a fortnight of a fire in an unoccupied house in Hastings.
