AVERAGE ENTRIES AT ADDINGTON VALUES WEAKEN (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night, At the Addington market average entries were forwarded to-day, and the values generally showed a weakening on the pre-Christmas sale. Store sheep. —There was a fair entry, and a good all-round demand, parpartieularly for forward wethers and young ewes. Forward 4 and 6-th crossbred wethers made 24s 3d to 255; medium t and 6-th wethers 22s to "4s; good 2-th wethers 21s .lid to 235; inferior 2-th wethers 17s fid to 20s, 4, 0 and 8-tli ewes 27s fid to 28s 3d; 2-th ewes 25s to 2fis Id; 2-th woolly half bred ewes to 3Ss fid: forward m.s. assorted lambs 24s Id lo 24s fid; medium lambs 22s lOd. Fat lambs.—There was a small entry of .1300. lvalues came back to the export basis, which this week are down a fraction, i.e., Did per lb. for 361bs. and under. Exporters were enabled to buy comfortably within their schedule! Extra prime lambs made to 34s 4d; prime 27s fid to 31s; medium lambs 24s fid to 275; light 22s Od to 24s Id. Fat cattle.-—Five hundred were entered, more than the requirements for a mid summer sale. For the small proportion of good steer and heifer beef, there was scarcely so brisk a sale, and other classes were down by 15s a bead. Best heifers made to 40s per IOOJbs.; good 37s to 3!)s; heavy weight 32s to 345; medium 34s to 3fis; and rough 25s to 20s. Extra prime heavy steers made to £lB 7s fid; prime heavy steers £ls to £l7 10s; medium steers £l2 10s to £l4 10s; light steers £8 to £l2; extra prime heifers to £l4 12s fid; prime heifers £ll to £l2 15s; medium heifers £8 to £lO 10s; light heifers £fi 10s to £7 15s; extra prime cows to £l2 355; prime cows £0 15s to £l2 10s; medium cows £7 5s to £0 10s; light cows £4 10s to £0 15s. Fat sheep"—There was an average yarding, nearly all local sheep, and an easing off of Is to Is Gd per head on the pre-Christmas sale, and values are now near an export basis. Factories bought a proportion of the entry of lighter sorts. Extra prime wethers made to 35s 4d; prime wethers 20s fid to 31s fid; medium wethers 26s to 295; light wethers 23s to 25s fid; extra prime ewes 20s to 32s lOd; prime ewes 22s fid to 20s fid; medium ewes 10s to 225; light ewes 15s to 18s. Dairy cattle.—There was a small entry and a brisk sale for good sorts. Second to fourth culvers made £7 to £lO 10s; jnedium £5 10s to £6 10s; heifers' £5 to £0 10s. Store cattle. —There was a very small showing. Best cows made £3 30s to £4 4s; others 30s to 50s; bulls £3 to £B. Vealers.—There was a small entry and a good sale. Twelve to 18months sorts to £0 10s; good vealers £4 10s to £5 17s fid; medium £3 7s fid to £4 7s fid; calves 4a to 10s. Fat pigs.—A weak demand, the yarding of baconers being over requirements. There was some buying of porkers for export. Choppers made £2 5s to £3 15s; light baconers £2 15s to £3; heavy baconers £3 os to £3 Bs—average price per >lb 41 d to 51d; light porkers 33s to 40s; heavy porkers 42s to 50s—average price per lb ssd to 7d. Store pigs.—There was a large entry, and cautious competition, due to a decline in the prices of fat pigs. Small woaners made Ss to 13s; good wcaners 14s 6d to 17s 6d; slips 14s to 18s; medium stores 10s to 225; large stores 23s to 325. WESTFIELD MARKET AUCKLAND, last night. At Westfield to-day there was an averago yarding of beef, and a good number of cows and heifers. Competition was erratic, and values, as a whole, were inclined to be somewhat easier. Extra choice ox sold to 32s per 1001bs.; choice and prime 28s to 31s; just billable 21s to 235. Sheep.—There was an average yarding, there being little or no change in values. Heavy prime wethers made £1 fis fid to £1 8s fid; medium £1 4s tOtf£l. fis 3d; lighter lfis to 10s fid; other ewes 10s to 14s fid. Lambs came forward in average numbers. Competition was steady throughout, and values wero firm at late rates. Heavy prime lambs, made £1 8s; medium £1 3s fid to £1 5s fid; lighter £1 Is fid to £1 2s fid. Calves. —There was a fair yarding, values being on a par with last sale. Runners made £3 to £4 12s; heavy vealers £3 as to £4; medium £2 0s to £3 4s; light £1 15s to £2 fis; rough 12s to £1 2s; fresh dropped 3s to 16s. Pigs.—There was an average yarding, priees being slightly better than last sale. Extra heavy baconers made to £2 15s; heavy baconers £2 12s to £2 14s; medium baconers £2 9s to £2 11s; light, baconers £2 fis to £2 8s; heavy porkers £2 7s to £2 9s; medium porkers £2 2s to £2 ss; light porkers £1 17s to £2.
