ORMOND SPORTS
One of the attractions at the Ormond sports on Tuesday will be the participation of Miss Norma Wilson, New Zealand 100yds. champion lady runner. Miss .Wilson, will be engaged in three of the events, the 75yds. and 100yds. ladies’ handicaps, and also the 220yds. dual relay race. In the 100yds. . race, she is to make an attempt to lower her previous fastest recorded time, of 12see. in which she won tho New Zealand championship. At the Kaituratahi sports last Monday one of the three stopwatches credited her with doing the distance in 11 3-ssec., but as all watches were not 1 in agreement it will be impossible to claim a record. Mis* Wilson is an Ormond girl, and it will be appropri-
ate if she is able to lower the record at her home centre. The Ormond Sports Club is making every endeavor to cater for the enjoyment and the comfort bf the public, and in this respect it" is entering on a new system, that of undertaking tho catering and conducting the sideshows itself, and for the purpose of doing the catering a special Radies’ committee has been formed.
