A FINE SCENIC FILM

TRIP THROUGH NEW ZEALAND When a f!co truck undertook a trip throughout the whole length of Mew Zealand and back again last year the main object was to display the capabilities of this motor vehicle, but in addition another line feat was achieved. The parly who undertook the trip took with them a moving picture camera, and strikingly recorded the wonderful scenery they passed through, and the events' of ltie lour. A total of over 7000 ft. of him was exposed, and about 5000i't. of it was made into a most attractive travel, picture, which also incorporates a large amount of genuine humor.

To lend additional interest to its public screening, a little story is woven around the venture of travelling from Raitaia to the Bluff and back, again to K.aitaia. This is shown in. the nature of a wager that the hold spirits who were essaying the trip would not complete it within 20 days. How this is accomplished in two days under that time makes a. most interesting story. After the preliminary initiation into the "plot." the Reo truck starts from Auckland to commence its long treck, crossing the Waitemata. and on the other side meeting the late Sir James Carroll. I'Yoin the time they leave Kaitaia until they return there are numerous wonderful scenes of nature's beauty, and many humorous incidents to lighten tile screening. A private screening was made at Everybody's Theatre yesterday, and a Herald representative who attended was agreeably surprised at tlie excellence of the photography throughout, this being equal to that of the best of the imported films. One section of particular interest to Gisborne people is of views taken in this district. The Motu-Opotiki road is shown in all its beauty, while rather a novel effect is attained when the heavy truck is rounding some of the very sharp bends with which that route abounds. 'the final stages of the picture show the. arrival at Kailaia 18 days after the start, and alter covering ',3300 miles, 'those who saw the screening yesterday referred lo it as a remarkable sceni'c attainment, and if is stated that a-copy was sent lo America, whence eame appreciation in regard to its excellence. Arrangements have been made to have tins fine film screened at Everybody* Theatre during the course of the next week or so.
