Consternation prevails in Court circles in Potsdam concerning the engagement of the Duchess Sophie Charlotte, who 'in 1926 divorced the Kaiser's second son, Prince Eitel Frederieh, to von Hedemann, an ex-constable audi ex-Dragoon Guards officer. Society is shocked by the prospect of her marrying a man considerably younger and far below her station in life.
