ATLANTIC FERRIES

SUPPORT FOR PROPOSAL SERVICES START IN 1930 (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Sydney Sun Cables.) (Received Nov. 8, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. (i. Mr. Lawrence Wilder's project for establishing an express service of trans-Atlantic steamers becomes operative in 1930 and will maintain a daily service from Long Island to Southampton, and Havre.

The American Shipping Board was won over by experiments with model vessels and iruiv giant a loan from its fund of £25,000,000.

The Brown Bovcri Co. is sponsoring the project, which is entitled the New York-London-Paris Steamship .Co., otherwise the Blue Ribbon Line. Vessels are being laid down immediately, costing £3,200,000 apiece . and resembling huge destroyers. They will be 800 ft long, and 80 feet wide, having 12 boilers with superheated steam.

Mr. Wilder's proposals provide for 10 quadruple screw turbine vessels of 20,000 tons with a speed of 30 to 35 knots, Each will carry 400 passengers, and will have an aeroplane for the delivery of mails. The requirements of passengers in the matter of air services will be arranged from the termini to inland towns.
