POVERTY .BAY ASSOCIATION Tile Poverty Bay Hockey Association’s committee met last evening, Air. P. Sim presiding. In connect ion with the proposed match at Palmerston North to serve ns a guide for the Wanganui selector in the select ion of u New Zealand team to tour Australia, a letter was received stating that the members of the teams must be eonlineil to players nominated for the team to tour Australia. It was stated that no Povertv Bav players had handed their names in.

The New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association wrote in connection with an insurance scheme for players, particulars of which had been supplied last season. The meeting decided to place lilic matter before the lady players of the district and to report to the next meeting.

Permission was granted to tennis from Messrs ( ommon, Shelton and Go. and Adair Bros, to play a match on July 14, the gate money to he given to the fund for sending the Indies’ team to the New Zealand championship tournament at Palmerston North. An application to have a ladies’ match played at l’uha was held over till the next meeting. A motion of thanks was passed fo Air. .McDonald for. the use of his rooms for a recent meeting. X.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP FUND A meeting was held Inst evening to discuss the matter of raising funds to send a Indies’ team to the New Zealand championship tournament at Palmerston North. The meeting was well attended, not only by lady players, but also by non-players and members of the opposite sex. It was decided to hold a bazaar at the end of next month, and to ask members of eaeli team to arrange for a stall. Jt was also decided to finalise matters next Monday. J p.m., referees, Messrs Henderson and Simile; Rovers a bvc. Ladies, Saturday: Old Girls v. Manutnke, No. 1 ground, at 2 p.m., referees, Messrs Greig and Duncan.; Kia Tea v.
