MOTORING MISHAP
INTOXICATION ALLEGED (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. As a result of a motor-car collision at Southbrook on Saturday evening, Henry Shepherd, 50, a 1 farmer, a single man, is an inmate of Christchurch hospital suffering from a compound fracture of the left leg, and a young man, Charles Pereival Griffin, a traveller for Henry' Berry r and Co., was arrested for alleged intoxication while in charge of a motor ear.
The circumstances of the accident were that Shepherd drove up to Southbrook Post Office to collect his mail. He stepped outside to the front of his ear and was struck by a car driven by Griffin coming from the direction of Rangiora.
