THE MODERATE FOROES

DUNEDIN, last night. At a meeting of the New Zealand Licensing Reform thc.following resolutions were passed:— (1) Emphatically protesting against the action of the .New Zealand Alliance in its renewed attempt-to disfranchise a large- and growing body by the reniovahof .the middle issue, on.the •licensing ballot paper;,'(3) declaring that the liifte'mrs corn'e whelrParliatnent should deal fearlessly .with, the licensing legislation in .the interests of real reform; (3) urging the Dominion executive of this association to organise the forces of moderation to resist the exploitatibp of Parliament by extremists for the purpose of imposing unwarrantable restrictions on that great majority of people Of Xew Zealand who hold different views from them in matters pertaining to licensing legislation.
