SUBTERRANEAN CLOVER EXPERIMENT
WOMBLLAINO, (Vic.) June 9. Many land owners this year have experimented with, subterranean clover. Tests conducted in districts not far away have proved that clover will double, and sometimes treble, the sheepcarrying capacity of the land. Dry, sandy soil seems to be peculiarly suitable for clover. If the clover is allowed to get a grip, by keeping out the stock, it is considered it will kill off bracken and fern, aj.i(l provide an excellent pasture for sheep. After sowing the oats many farmers, then put the drill over the hind again to sow clover. Tho result is expected to bo most- satisfactory.
