S. N. Doust, writing to the Daily Mail from Paris, says;—"Tilden had the hardest match of his tour against Raymond. The latter made the American do most of the ruining and worried Titien with top spin, which made the ball get up high on the hard courts. Raymond actually led, 3t03, in the third set. However, Raymond's good play brought o,ut the best in Tilden, who cjitl amazing He changed his stroke from spin to plain shots, slow to fast, short to long, in every rally. , Raymond never knew what to expect. 'Many of Tilden's drives were unplayable. "An amusing interlude occurred, in the third set, when things were not well for Tilden. A (Jog gave a dreadful howl near the court. When it had stopped, TiWcn said, 'That's just how I feel.' "
