WIRELESS PROGRESS

AUSTRALIAN SCHEMES COMMISSIONER'S INQUIRY (Eleo. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.l (Received June 11, noon.) SYDNEY, June 11. At the Wireless Commission evidence was given that the Government proposed to erect one high-powered central station in or near Sydney, and six relay stations for broadcasting purposes. The scheme, in addition, will be an alternative means of communication in the event of the dislocation of the telegraph service. Mr. G. A. Taylor, representing the association for the development of wireless, in giving evidence, said he had received a cable from a Victorian experimenter at present living in America that, the Australian beam service between England and Australia was well received there when sent either way round the world.
