GLADY’S MONCRIEFF’S SMASH

LONDON, May 23,

Miss Gladys Moncrieff, who was in a taxi which collided with a motor car yesterday, while she was returning from’ a matinee performance of the “Elue Mazurka,” has recovered from the slight injuries, shock, and head bruises she received. Miss Moncrieff was not able to appear on Saturday night, her place lie ing taken by an understudy. Miss Moncrieff rested to-day to ensure her reappearance to-morrow night, She declares .she will not ride m laxi-eabs in future. Her mishap will not affect the “Australian night,” when Sir Joseph Cook, the Agents-Gcncral, and other prominent Australians will witness a performance of the “Blue Bazurka.”
