NARROW ESCAPE
ENGINE STRIKES TRAM (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Fifty people had a narrow escape from injury when a locomotive collided with a- tram trailer oh Colombo street- crossing this morning. The trailer was pushed off tho rails and the windows wero smashed, but no one was badly hurt, though several people received bruises. Damage was caused to the shunting locomotive, and the railway people say Hint- the signals wore not properly observed.
