UAWA HARBOR BOARD

MR. E. B. BOLAND RE-ELECTED CHAIRMAN

(Special to Herald) TOLOGA BAY, this day. Mr. E. B. 'Boland was unanimously re-elected chairman of the -Uawa Harbor Board at the annual meeting of the Board on Saturday. Mr. Boland has ocoupied the chairmanship of the Board since its inception in 19111. Mr. Morns, in proposing the re-elec-tion of Mr. Boland, stated that there was no member more suited for the position and none more keenly interested in the successful carrying out of the Board’s undertaking. Mr. Bartram seconded the motion, and there being rio other nomination, Mr. Boland was duly re-elected. In returning thanks for the renewal of confidence thus expressed, the ohairman said that members of the Board, during the past year, had worked amicably together. Whilst it was very ueccessary for each member to express his opinion on the various matters brought forward, ho felt sure the same spirit of co-operation would be shown by all members during the ensuing year. Matters of' considerable importance would need to be considered during the coming year, as lie hoped the wharf would be completed by the next, annual general meeting. The work was proceeding satisfactorily. Approximately 1020 ft. of the jetty liad been completed,.out of a total length of 2150 ft. Good work had been done for several months past. The completion of the wharf would entail tho erection oE the goods sheds, etc., and the inauguration of a system for the working of! the port, togotlier with other improvements. These would take a good ilea! of consideration. Personally, he felt confident that any opposition to the wharf project that may have existed would disappear now that the success of the work was assured.

Formal‘matters of business were dealt with, including the re-appointment of the staff.
